More Great Business Ideas

In history all great businesses start with a great business idea. Of course there were thousands of what someone thought was a great business idea only to find out this was not the case. If you look at all of the large corporations that we have today you will see how many were built by one or more people in a basement or in a garage with very little funding to start with.
What about you? Do you have a great business idea? Are you looking for a new idea to start a business? Or maybe you are looking for some great ideas to expand your business through marketing, promotions or a new product or invention. In any case you need to learn how to create great business ideas.
Many people are born with a creative side to them, but if you were not one then you need to know that this can be developed. Through writing exercises, creating mind maps, learning how to meditate or learning a new musical instrument. Each of these will help to get the creative juices flowing to start opening the valve for great business ideas. Come up with 2-3 new business ideas every single day. After the first week you will start to run out of ideas, then you will need to stop thinking and just let some really dumb ideas come to mind. After another week and you have come up with about 20 not so great ideas you will find that newer better ideas are starting to surface. In your third week you will come up with another 20 ideas and out of those 20, 1-2 will seem viable. Now in your fourth week out of the 20 ideas about half will be good, not great, but getting there. Then in the fifth week all of a sudden the flood gates are open and you will start to have some pretty good ideas everyday. Instead of 20 in a week you might be having 20 in a day, and out of those 20 a couple are okay. Out of the 140 or so you are now having many will need to be tested to see if the idea can make you any money or not. A word of warning, I did this about 22 years ago and to this day I still have many ideas, once the gates are open there is no closing them.

What Kind of Business to Start

Whenever you think about starting a new business there is a few things to consider. First and foremost is do you have experience in the type of business you are thinking of starting? Most self employed people will do a lot of the work themselves, therefore you will want to have a lot of experience in any new venture you start. Of course this is not always the case. For example I have a friend that can do plumbing, but he is not a plumber. Yet he has a very successful plumbing company. How did this happen you might ask? If you are really good with dealing with people you can open any kind of business and just hire people to do the necessary work. In his case what mattered the most was building a list of clients that he could rely on for getting a consistent amount of work from. Then he built a list of sub contractors that you could rely on to do the work when this was needed.
The same thing could easily work for any sort of business. If you are in retail you would not hire sub contractors but full time and part time employees.
